Count Loménie de Brienne's library was sold in London in 1724, where Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742) undoubtedly purchased it. Book number label on front fly-leaf verso: 'Z' [printed in red] / "32" [in manuscript]. Binding: seventeenth-century armorial red morocco; single and double gilt fillet border, with small cornerpiece stamps; single panel of single and double gilt fillets, with large cornerpiece stamps; gilt armorial centrepiece stamp: arms of Louis-Henri de Lomenie, comte de Brienne (1635-1698); gilt roll patterns on board edges and turn-ins; gilt tooling and monogram of the comte de Brienne on spine. All edges gilt, with marbling underneath. Comb marbled endpapers.
