[12], 258 leaves :. ill. (woodcuts);. 4to. Imperfect: wanting sigs. *1-4, A8 and leaves 57-80 inclusive, including titlepage which has been transcribed in manuscript by W.H. Allnutt, along with a bibliographical note and cutting from a catalogue referring to a 1599 volume by Gesner, and dated Oct. 18, 1881. The final leaf appears to come from another (17th cent.?) work and is bound in with verso before recto; contains the lines "But obstinate and blynde as were/ The Hebues of foretyme,/ That trusted not the Sacred wordes,/ Of those whiche did devine ...". This portion is also annotated. Sixteenth-century marginalia. Binding: brown morocco; yellowed marbled paper over boards.
