Manuscript ownership inscription at head of pt. 1 title page, inked-over and obscured, the beginning still partially legible: "Ex liberalitate[?] [initial] Gysberti a ...". Binding: seventeenth-century full gold-tooled calf dyed a dark red colour; sewn onto six double cords, with six raised bands on spine; covers have a gold-tooled framework of single gilt fillets forming an outer border mitred at the corners to a single panel of gilt fillets, the panel with gilt cornerpiece stamps, and a large gilt decorative strapwork and foliate centrepiece stamp; two pairs of green silk ties on fore-edges of boards; spine faded to off-white; head of spine cracked, partially missing; gold-tooled spine, with gilt floral stamps and roll decoration; brown goatskin label with gilt title and darker brown goatskin label with gilt vol. number on spine. All edges gilt, gauffered along the edges.
