Pencil sketches of faces and a caricature of a bearded man on verso of plate 35 and on rear free endpaper. Partial handcolouring to plate 1. Some water damage to plates. Provenance: Nineteenth-century bookseller's ticket (partially removed) '[J. He]bner engr[aver], printer & stationer 15 Maddox Street Hanover Square London'. Pencil inscription on front pastedown 'The Children's book Gate House'. Binding: nineteenth-century half sheep, marbled paper boards; gilt-lettered red label on upper board 'Craig's drawing book'.
