Armorial bookplate: Chute of the Vyne [i.e. Chaloner William Chute (1838-1892); the plate was designed for him in 1885 by his brother-in-law William Wyndham Portal, but also used by later generations]. Binding: Nineteenth-century full calf over boards; gilt and blind fillets; spine disintegrating, and mostly lost, leaving only section with spine label; tape repairs to inner hinges.
