Summary
Brown paper envelope with a white stick on address label; 'William Straw Esq., 7 Blyth Grove, WORKSOP, Notts:' in the centre. In the top left corner printed in black 'Printed Paper rate'. In the top right a purple stamp with a young Queen Elizabeth II facing left with '3D' in the bottom left corner and a white serrated edge. Over this a black postal mark made up of an oblong to the left with 'REMEMBER TO USE THE POSTCODE' in it and seven lines broken by a circle with 'NO...M 4-PM 7 JNE 1968 ...FOLK'. Handwritten in the bottom right corner vertically by William Jnr. in pencil; 'BLYTH LAW Hill excavation 1968'. On the back is a pencil drawing of an oblong with a smaller inner one in the top right and a square in the bottom right corner, these carry measurements. Above this is written '7ft 5in' and to the right 'Pete.....y 13 x 8 1/2 corresponded' and to the base '2nd June 6ft 10.'. The envelope contains two copies of 'Blyth Law Hill excavation 1964' by George Frederick White (record 3166002).
