Half-title has pasted in newspaper cutting with obituary of Dorothy Nevill; with pencil inscription: “March 25,1913”. Further items loosely inserted or pasted in: at p.39: news cutting with obituary of Dorothy Nevill; letter from Dorothy Nevill, in London, to “Lady Sackville Knole Sevenoaks”, envelope postmarked: De 28 ‘12; at p.41: pasted in portrait of Lord Beaconsfield, with inscription in black ink: “Lord Beaconsfield – Drawn by Cte d’Orsay 1834”; at p.43: news cutting on Benjamin Disraeli, on Observatoe; at p.61: pasted in portrait, inscribed: “Lord Byron in 1823”; at pp. 223-5: pencil markings and annotation, signed V.S.W. 1907, pasted in at foot of p. 225 are two female portraits. Binding: twentieth-century half red morocco, with red cloth over boards; gold tooling on covers and spine; five false bands. Binder’s stamp: Riviere & Son. Upper joint broken; inserts fragile.
