Handwritten note from "Ambrose" [unidentified] to "My dear George" [i.e. George Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Viscount Scarsdale (1859-1925)], dated "Xmas 1924[?]" offering this volume, describing it as a "small and rather moth-eaten contribution to that section of the Kedleston Library that deals with the 'Charles' period". Binding: Nineteenth-century half green morocco[?] on marbled paper, half blind fillets, gilt tooling on spine, red gilt lettered leather title label pasted on. Edges lightly sprinkled red. Upper cover becoming detached from spine.
