Summary
Three pieces of original packaging containing the book 'The Prince of Orange his declaration:. shewing the reasons vvhy he invades England. With a short preface, and some modest remarks on it.' by King William III (William of Orange) (1650–1702). Brown paper envelope containing a corrugated cardboard inner and white paper note. The Envelope - Brown paper envelope with flap opening on right back side, the back is plain. On the front is the white address sticker; 'From THOMAS THORP Antiquarian Bookseller 27 ALBEMARLE STREET, LONDON, W.1 William Straw Esq., 7, Blyth Grove Worksop Nottinghamshire'. In the top right corner are two postal stamps with Queen Elizabeth II looking left. The left stamp is a pink colour with '2 1/2p' in the bottom left corner and the right is a burgundy stamp with an obscured '1'. There is a red round postal mark partially over the pink stamp reading 'LON.... 23.....' and a full round black postal mark over the lower section of both stamps reading 'LONDON W.... 1... 6 FEB 73 ...15 PM WJ.'.
