Provenance: armorial bookplate of George G. De Hochepied Larpent (Franks 17631). Anonymous architectural armorial bookplate (not listed in Franks): depicts winged angel holding shield divided party per pale with a water mill and barrel over all, with motto around the border: 'Soli Deo honor et gloria in scla sclor'. Pencil inscription on second front free endpaper: "R.W. Ketton-Cremer. E libris M. C. de C. 1955" [i.e. Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)]. Pencil text marking and annotations in the hand of R.W. Ketton-Cremer. Pencil inscription "N.T." on corner of anonymous bookplate on front free endpaper. Binding: nineteenth-century full polished sprinkled calf; gilt rolled to form an outer border; sewn onto five raised bands; spine gilt; green spine label: 'Sydney Papers'; blind edge rolled; edges sprinkled in brown; grey endpapers.
