Early nineteenth-century manuscript music and words written in two hands. - The pieces are a mixture of dances (Polonoise by Reichel, Waltzer,Mazurka) and other secular music ( Roman Girls Song; Greek Exile, Rose, Beth Gelert) and some sacred pieces (Vesper hymn by Catherine Spring Rice; Heber’s Hymn for the 6th Sunday in Lent, various Psalms) . One of the waltzes is dated June 1830. - The book has been used from both ends. - The first leaf of music is half-pasted to endpaper. With two leaves of manuscript verse laid in. Binding: Sheep? Gold ruled; central panel has gold cornerpieces; marbled endpapers.
