Dear Miss Watt, I send by this post a small book of travels which I hope you will accept ... for a day's real enjoyment in sketching your beautiful old hall. ... Yours truly Edward Rae" [i.e. from the author of the book Edward Rae (b. 1847) to Adelaide Watt (1857-1921)]. Binding: nineteenth-century publisher's green cloth; gilt picture of skiing native on front cover; gilt spine title.
