S.H.S." [Rainer Maria Rilke, trans. Stephen Spender]; in pencil manuscript on rear "Go London docks today / Heap spice tobacco, and the narwhal horn," ; 3) typescript letter to "The Hon. V. Sackville-West", signed from "F.V. Morley" on "Faber & Faber Limited Publishers" headed paper, dated "Sept. 29th. 1930", with regard to sending "these personal copies of three young poets", with additional ms. note and label of Memoirs of an infantry officer, by Siegfried Sassoon. Pencil and ink marking and annotation, ms. references and annotation on rear pastedown. Provenance: inscribed "V.N. / Sissinghurst May 1932" [i.e. Vita Sackville-West [Nicolson], 1892-1962].
