3v., plates . ill.., port.., map . 62cm.. Illustrations are tinted, but not fully coloured. Shelved with Egypt & Nubia. Provenance: Nineteenth-century large Harpur, Crewe, Lovell and [unidentified] armorial bookplate, with inscription: Calke Abbey Library [i.e. Sir John Harpur Crewe, 9th Baronet (1824-1886), m. 1845 Georgiana Stanhope Lovell (1824-1910)]. Binding: Nineteenth-century half grained leather binding; marbled paper over boards; spine gilt decorated and gilt lettered.

Provenance

Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
