Binding: Sewn on 3 tawed supports. Sixteenth/seventeenth-century calf, blind-tooled with frame of fillets and oval strapwork centrepiece on boards, and fillets, with diagonal hatching at head and tail, on spine. Edges stained yellow. Remains of green linen ties in holes on fore edge. '4' and three dots inside '=' in ink on fore edge, orientated to be read with book standing on its tail. The centrepiece is associated with the Oxford binder Robert Way alias Robert Nixon.
