Laid loose inside the folded title sheet are 2 leaves of blue paper ruled for accounting, completed in ms, headed: "Land late Joseph Sharples. 2nd Oct. 1871". The columns are headed "No. on plan"; "Description"; "Quantities", and presumably relate to the maps they accompany. There is also a manuscript letter headed "Hitchin 24 Nov. 1871" from A. G. Ransom[?] to "My dear Cousins", giving details of parcels of land not included in the main listings. Title sheet has manuscript number: "[hache] 225" relating to Peckover condition survey card index (card not located).. Provenance: The slip case holding the maps has ms inscription: "Jos. Sharples".. Binding: The sheets are mounted on linen, with tape on the outer edges sewn by hand; upper and lower sides of the folded sheets covered in green cloth; all contained in a slip case, green cloth over board, dark spine label gilt tooled and lettered: "Plans Hitchin Herts"..
