Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (dated 1922) with portrait: "Edith Helen Marchioness of Londonderry. D.B.E." [i.e. Edith Helen Chaplin, m. in 1899 Charles 7th Marquess of Londonderry]. Motto in Scottish Gaelic over portrait ("Tha mo cridhe's an tir nam beann" [My heart is in the land of mountains]). Gilt armorial stamp displaying Vane-Tempest-Stewart marshalled with Chaplin under a marquess coronet with charges and motto (Metuenda corolla draconis). Binding: Twentieth-century full polished calf binding; gold-tooled armorial stamp on upper cover; gilt-top. Green and black leather spine labels, lettered in gilt. Binder's endpapers watermarked: St. Winifred. Laid paper with deckle edges.
