Binding: Twentieth-century full publisher's black cloth; gilt stamped dragon, ancient North African symbol said to ward off the evil eye (used on covers of Maugham's books from 1901) and gilt lettering on upper board; blind stamped publisher's device on lower board; gilt stamped pagoda and gilt lettering on spine.
