Pencil note on front pastedown: "Fairhaven / 37 Park Street[?] / April 1939" [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Binding: Twentieth-century full publisher's black cloth; white lettered upper board and spine; blind embossed motif on upper board: animals in circular frame.
