Summary
The book offers evidence from ancient legal documents as well as more recent parliament and court decisions to support the author’s claim that a grant of arms in Scotland confers what the author calls ‘noblesse’ and is equal with nobility (ie peerage). Other claims such as the grant of arms gives the right to decide disputes of precedence.
