**The Inscribed Books Collection, to which this book belongs, consists of gift inscriptions on third party books given to Sir Winston Churchill from friends, family, and well-wishers, unsolicited presentation copies of books by strangers, as well as presentation copies from authors who were genuine friends and colleagues. After his death in January 1965, Churchill personally bequeathed the collection via his Will as a testament to his national and international achievements. 'Winston Churchill' is a biography of the great British statesman by Swedish writer Knut Hagberg, written in the author's native language. Published by Natur before the end of the Second World War in 1944, the book begins with Churchill as a young man and then takes the reader through his political career. Hagberg includes First Lord of the Admiralty years, the threat of Hitler and Dunkirk. The book closes with reference to Churchill's literature.
