Summary
Green paper receipt with white paper stamp duty receipt attached. Green paper receipt has " S 8772 25th November 1953" printed in the top right corner. In the top left " M William Straw, 7, Blyth Grovem Worksop, Notts.". Beneath this in the centre in blue ink is printed "Dr. TO A. &F. DENNY, LTD. BOKSELLERS 31 - 33, QUEEN VICTORIA STREET, LONDON, E.C.4 ACCOUNT DUE AND PAYALE AT THE ABOVE ADDRESS" to the left of this "Telephone: CITY 1896 1897 1898" and to the right "Also at 163a Strand, W.C.2". A central double line cuts the page in half under which is typed " 1 Douglas English Historical Documents ....1. V111 1660-1714 £4. -. -.". Beneath this in the centre at the bottom of the page "....S TO GOODS SUPPLIED ONN THIS DATE .....SSARILY THE BALANCE OF YOUR ACCOUNT.". The white stamp duty receipt has "30049" in red in the top left corner and "31 - 33 Queen Victoria St. LONDON, E.C.4. £ s. d." in black in the top right. Beneath this in a mixture of black print and pencil " 25-11-1953 4-0-0, Received from Wm. Straws Worksop Notts Per A. & F. DENNY LTD. J. P. S. WITH THANKS cheque". In the bottom right corner is a red 2d postage stamp. The receipts are kept within the book "English historical documents . general editor, David C. Douglas." (record 3131315).

Straw collection bequeathed contents of the house to The National Trust on the death in 1990 of William Straw.
