Binding: Red leather, gold armorials; joints split, spine loose. - Loosely inserted ALs in ink dated 'Monday 28th [May, 1923]', signature unread, explaining meeting with the Armenian translator of Shakespeare in Paris, the conversation turned to Ellen Terry, hence the forwarding of the volume as a gift; footnote explains that the translator had been Persian Ambassador to Berlin before the War - in fact, he became Ambassador to London in 1927, and then to Tokyo in 1929.
