[Sophia Feilding, née Sophia Finch]. Nineteenth-century armorial bookplate: Charles Feilding (Franks 10307 or 10308). [Commodore Charles Feilding married Sophia Finch in 1772. Could be him, or one of their sons: Rear-Admiral Charles Feilding (1780-1837). All members of the Feilding family connected with Newnham Paddox, Warwickshire]. Twentieth-century armorial bookplate: Thos. Gaisford. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on v. 1 flyleaf in Norris's hand: NW/- 3/48.. Binding: Nineteenth-century full blue straight-grained morocco over boards; blind fillets and roll-tools within a gilt fillet to form a border and central panel; gilt roll-tooled inner border; spine gilt with title 'Essay on Pope'.
