Provenance: Eighteenth-century armorial bookplate lettered The Right Honourable Wilmot, Viscount Lisburne, with manuscript shelfmark added on label partly covering plate. (Not in Franks) [i.e. Wilmot Vaughn (1730-1800), 4th Viscount Lisburne from 1766 to 1776, when he was created 1st Earl]. Eighteenth-century (?) inscription on flyleaf: Editio rarissima Fabricio & Maittario ignota. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Binding: Eighteenth-century full red morocco over boards; gilt fillet; greenish leather spine label with title 'Moschius et Bion'; sewn on five raised bands.
