76 p., [4] leaves of plates ; 8vo. Pencil annotations on pp. 4, 9, 15 and 23, indicating items bought by Lord Fairhaven. Ephemera: scrap of paper loosely inserted as a marker. Manuscript inscriptions on original front wrapper: "For Lord Fairhaven / MB" [i.e.: for Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)] and "There are a few others / specially catalogued / at Elkin Matthews". Provenance: Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (small variant), signed Badeley 1930: ‘Urban Huttleston Rogers Lord Fairhaven’ [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Gilt tooled 'F' at foot of spine [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Binding: Twentieth-century full blue cloth; spine lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Birkenhead library' and (at foot of spine): 'F 1931' [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]; gilt top edge. Original printed paper wrappers retained. Binder's ink stamp on front pastedown: 'Robson & Co. Ltd. W.1.'.
