Letter argues the book is wrong- "contemplation of the firmament ... may enable us to conclude, that there must have been a Superior Power ... but no contemplation of this kind can tell us what is the nature of that Power". Binding: Twentieth-century half red grained leather binding; red cloth over boards; lettered on front paste-down: "Birdsall & Son Northampton"; spine gilt decorated and lettered: "Paley's Natural Theology 1835".

Part of the Bristol Collection. The house and contents were acquired through the National Land Fund and transferred to the National Trust in 1956
