Provenance: manuscript inscription on front flyleaf: "Lord Jermyn from his affect friend C. L. K. with earnest wishes for his spiritual welfare" [i.e. Frederick William Hervey (1800-1864), the Earl Jermyn and later 2nd Marquess of Bristol]. Binding: Nineteenth-century full leather; single gilt fillet border; twentieth-century rebacked spine gilt decorated and lettered: "Noel's Sermons. Vol I. 1827".

Part of the Bristol Collection. The house and contents were acquired through the National Land Fund and transferred to the National Trust in 1956
