Loosely inserted: MS document ([8]p.) signed Hen[ry] Rooke, concerning archival records kept in the Chapell of the Rolls and the Tower of London, followed by a note in the same hand concerning resolutions made by a House of Commons Committee appointed to view the Cottonian Library (1732). Also loosely inserted: twentieth-century newspaper clipping, and clippings from dealer's catalogues, unrelated to provenance.. Provenance: Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on pastedown in Norris's hand: H. [i.e. Hodgson's] 43 Lot 495 Đ3/0/0.. Binding: Nineteenth-century full calf over boards; blind fillets and blind tools within double gilt fillet to form a border; gilt corner tools within border; blind-tooled spine; gilt spine title; sewn on five double raised bands.
