Henry Hanson Simpson. September 9, 1831." Pencil inscription also on flyleaf: "Given by R. B. S. [i.e. Simpson?] to Walter W M Smith. Jany. [18]95." Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Binding: Nineteenth-century half morocco; marbled boards; morocco label on upper cover with gilt title.
