Provenance: Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on v.1 pastedown in Norris's hand: Dropmore 1/3 '39 Lot 865. [i.e. Dropmore House, Buckinghamshire]. $z Binding: Nineteenth-century armorial full red morocco bindings over boards; gilt armorial centrepieces: on upper boards; Oxoniensis Academia; on lower boards: Sigill. W. W. Baronis Grenville Cancellarii Academiae Oxoniensis [i.e. William Wyndham Grenville, 1st Baron Grenville (1759-1834), of Dropmore House, Chancellor of Oxford University, and Prime Minister]. Double gilt fillets; triple gilt fillets on inner borders; gilt spines with title "Cramer's Ancient Greece"; sewn on five raised bands. Atlas vol. has marbled sides and lacks armorial stamp.
