Loosely inserted newspaper cutting inserted between lower endpapers. Provenance: Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (dated 1922) with portrait: "Edith Helen Marchioness of Londonderry. D.B.E." [i.e. Edith Helen Chaplin, m. in 1899 Charles 7th Marquess of Londonderry]. Motto in Scottish Gaelic over portrait ("Tha mo cridhe's an tir nam beann" [My heart is in the land of mountains]). Binding: Twentieth-centuryhalf polished mottled calf on paper over boards. Black and green spine labels, lettered in gilt. Gilt-top. Bookbinder's ticket on lower pastedown: "W. Erskine Mayne 3 Donegall Sq. W. Belfast."
