Cockerell / bought of Karslake Nov. 10th 1897 / to Rudyard Kipling / 27 Sept 1935. - Inscribed in ink on half-title: 'L.A. Horwell / from his friend the writer / 1866. - Inscribed in pencil on verso of the half-title 'Erratum / p.50 for 'further end" read "knave [sic]. - A pencil sketch of a frieze of figures at the top of p. 50. Binding: Publisher's green cloth, gold-lettered spine, joints cracked.
