Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). On flyleaf: inscription in Norris's hand: "My grandfather's brother Albert Norris was 2nd Eingeer in the "Great Eastern" steamship during the time it was a cable ship . N.E.S. Norris.". Binding: Publishers' full green cloth over boards; elaborate gilt panel on upper board, incorporating British and U.S. flags and cable imagery; gilt-panelled spine; as issued.
