Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (large variant), signed Badeley 1930: ‘Urban Huttleston Rogers Lord Fairhaven’ [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Binding: Nineteenth-century full publisher's green cloth; blind and gilt blocked design on upper board: outer frame with shells and interlocking cables, four circles: (1) flag of United Kingdom, (2) flag of United States of America, (3) figure of Britannia with shields of both United Kingdom and United States of America, (4) globe; onlaid paper at centre (cross-section of cable) within circular frame with eagle below and royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom (flanked by wings) above; blind blocked design on lower board replicating gilt element on upper board; gilt blocked spine; gilt textblock edges.
