Binding: Late nineteenth- / early twentieth-century full blue morocco; triple gilt fillet to form an outer border; single gilt fillet to form an inner border; gilt tooled cornerpieces on upper board: fleur de lis; gilt-stamped centrepiece on upper board: coat of arms of Marie Antoinette; sewn onto five raised bands; gilt tooled spine, lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Marie Antoinette the Queen' and 'De Nolhac'; single gilt fillet on board edges; quadruple gilt fillet on turn-ins, with small gilt-stamped fleur-de-lis in outer corners; gilt textblock edges. Binder's gilt-stamp on front turn-in: 'J & E Bumpus 350. Oxford Street'.
