Ephemera: loosely inserted scrap of paper with logo of Mercury (cut from an envelope?) in v. 7; loosely inserted scrap of paper used as a marker in v. 8. Provenance: Nineteenth-century seal bookplate (not in Franks): 'Ex libris Charles Harold Evelyn White F.S.A. Lond.' [i.e.: Revd Charles Harold Evelyn-White (1850-1938)]. Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (small variant), signed Badeley 1930: ‘Urban Huttleston Rogers Lord Fairhaven’ [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Bookseller's ticket on rear pastedowns in v. 7-8: 'A.P. Dixon, / Bookseller & Stationer, / Market St. and St. Andrew's St. / Cambridge.' Binding: Nineteenth-century half brown morocco, brown cloth over boards; sewn onto five raised bands; gilt tooled spines, lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Proceedings of the Cambridge Antiquarian Society.' and 'Vol. I[-III]. / 1888-91[-1894-98].'; brown sprinkled top edges.
