Pencil note on front pastedown: "F 1934" [i.e. Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Binding: Nineteenth-century full green cloth; gilt-stamped centrepiece (flowers and foliage on a pedestal) on upper board; blind-stamped leafy cornerpieces and blind fillets to form an outer border on upper and lower boards; recessed cords; spine gilt-stamped with floral design and title: 'The ladies' flower garden of ornamental annvals by Mrs. Loudon'.
