Pencil translations into English of captions on plates 2, 4, 5, and 6 (partial): those for plates 2 and 4 also on facing pages, signed "S.P.H."; that for plate 5 also on facing page in same hand but unsigned. Ephemera: loosely inserted typescript catalogue card. Provenance: Twentieth-century armorial bookplate, signed G.S. 24 [1924]: ‘Urban Huttleston Rogers Broughton’ [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Binding: Early twentieth-century half maroon morocco, light maroon cloth over boards; sewn onto five raised bands; gilt fillets on spine; spine lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Venationes / Stradanus'; gilt textblock edges. Binder's gilt stamp on front turn-in: 'Robson & Co. Ltd. 7, Hanover Street, W.1.'.
