Pencil notes in Norris's hand: (1) on vol. 1 front free endpaper: Sexton 8/9 50 £9.; (2) on vol. 1 front flyleaf: Cat V.9.b.1 [changed in the same hand to Cat V.4.b.1]. Previous bookseller's pencil note on vol. 1 front free endpaper: 36 Vs contemporary Morocco c/mn/ £8/8/- . Historic shelfmark: B.1.22. Binding: Nineteenth-century dark blue straight-grained morocco over boards on three raised cords of which one is false; covers are decorated with triple gilt fillet and arched roll tool with an inner double blind fillet and foliage tool, gilt tooling to corners of board edges, gilt floral and foliage roll on board inner, gilt edges, gilt spine tooling and gilt title: 'British Poets 19. Akenside.'
