Binding: original sixteenth-century gold-stamped calf covers laid over nineteenth- or twentieth-century calf rebinding. Original covers with blind and double gilt fillet border (gilding very faded), gilt interlaced cornerpiece stamps, and gilt oval floral and strapwork centrepiece stamp. On each rebinding a blind hatched roll pattern on board edges and turn-ins, and blind-tooled spine with gilt title, part number, place and date of publication, the date incorrectly stamped either 1780 (parts 1 and 6) or 1779 (parts 2-5). New endpapers in each vol. Blue stained edges.
