[i.e. the "collated and perfect" mark of the bibliophile Thomas Rawlinson (1681-1725)]; with a further inscription on the front pastedown possibly in the hand of Thomas Rawlinson which has been scratched out. Manuscript initial on front fly-leaf: "M." [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Manuscript inscription on fly-leaf facing title page: "Petrus Galatinus, est auctor" [i.e. author note and catalogue entry for anonymous works written by John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751)]. Three manuscript inscriptions in sixteenth-century hands on title page: two have been inked-over, one of which is totally illegible and the other is partially legible and reads "Plagiariatus hunc ... Beroaldus in Chrime ...", and the third is partially legible and reads"Liber ... [illegible] B. Magdalensis". Manuscript monogram "LS" or "SL" on sigs. x3v and x4r. With occasional manuscript marginal annotations in sixteenth-century hand and underscoring of text, e.g. on sigs. i1r, i4r, Y3v. Binding: seventeenth-century full sprinkled calf; double blind fillet border, with blind roll pattern along spine edge; blind roll on board edges; plain spine (title label missing). Red sprinkled edges.
