506, [2] leaves ; 4to. Running number: 2681. Provenance: manuscript inscription on title page: "Henrici Antonii Verdeni anno 1573 calend. Aprilis 3Π [i.e. 3 Pi] 3Μ [i.e. 3 Mu?]". Binding: sixteenth-century blind-panelled calf over wooden boards. Both covers blind-tooled thin thick thin fillet framework; outer panel with pictorial roll with images of 'Prudentia', 'Lucretia', 'Iustitia', and 'Suavitas'; middle panel with heads-in-medallions (Terence, Cicero, Ovid and Virgil) and floral roll pattern, with two blank compartments at head and foot; inner panel has intertwined palmette stamps, with two blank compartments at head and foot. Wooden boards have bevelled edges. Catch and clasp bracket marks on both boards. Spine has blind fillets at head and foot and along four raised bands, with gilt title on goatskin label. Head and foot of spine, fore-edges and lower board repaired in tan sheepskin. Manuscript fore-edge title: "B. Hebr.". Pencil note on front pastedown: "Repaired at Cambridge 1961".
