With a scrap of paper laid in as bookmark in vol.V.. Provenance: In vol. I: Nineteenth century pictorial armorial bookplate, lettered: Sir Walter Calverley Trevelyan Bart. [i.e. Sir Walter Calverley Trevelyan (1797-1879)]. Arms: Trevelyan impaling Jermyn. Signed W.B.S. (William Bell Scott - see Fincham p.82) Franks 29799. Sir Walter Calverley Trevelyan [1797-1879] was vice-president of the Society. John Trevelyan, Esq. (1761-1846), Sir Charles Edward Trevelyan (1807-1886) and Sir Charles Phiips Trevelyan are listed among the members. 'Mary Trevelyan' or 'MKT' is written in some of the later volumes.. Binding: First series and new series vols.1-VII bound in half-leather; marbled boards and endpapers; title and vol. nos. gilt lettered on spines. Vols. VIII-XI are unbound. Third series, vols. XVIII-XXI (1920-1924) cloth with paper printed spine labels. Fourth series cloth with leather spine label, gilt tops from vol. VII-XVIII. Fifth series largely bound in red cloth.
