Provenance: Multiple owners: armorial bookplate, lettered: Honore et amore with manuscript under: Pearl Mary Teresa Craigie [novelist and dramatist who wrote under the pseudonym John Oliver Hobbes (1867-1906)]. Over this a leaf of paper is pasted in with the manuscript ' "John Oliver Hobbs'" [sic] copy'. On free endpaper verso: Ernest A Smith. Twentieth-century pictorial armorial bookplate, a re-working of an earlier William Bell Scott pictorial Trevelyan bookplate (Franks 29799) of Sir Walter Calverley Trevelyan (1797-1879), lettered: Charles & Mary Trevelyan [i.e. Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan (1870-1958), & Mary Katharine, (m.1904).] Arms: Trevelyan impaling Bell.
