Provenance: Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754].. Binding: Seventeenth-century[?] blind-panelled calf binding, with small blind centrepiece stamp of a stylised double-headed eagle beanth a crown. Rebacked in tan sheepskin; blind-tooled spine, with gilt title and date. Manuscript on vellum binder's waste at front and rear.
