[i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754. Also found in books acquired by his successors, in this case probably Philip Yorke, 3rd Earl of Hardwicke (1757-1834)]. Binder's label on front pastedowns: 'Bound by F. Elvy, bookseller &c. Sheerness. Agent to the Kent Fire & Life Offices'. manuscript inscription on title pages: "C: Yorke" [i.e. Charles Philip Yorke, 4th Earl of Hardwicke (1799-1873)].. Binding: Green cloth bindings, with gilt title labels on spines. Blue marbled edges.
