Provenance: Inscribed on p. 1: "Southern", crossed out and replaced with: "V. Yorke, Erddig" [i.e. Victoria Mary Louisa Cust (1823-95), daughter of Sir Edward Cust and Mary Anne Boode, m. Simon Yorke III of Erddig in 1846]. Nineteenth-century armorial bookplate, motto: Qui cust odit caveat. Lettered: "Robert Henry Hobart Cust" [(1861-1940), son of Robert Needham Cust and Maria Adelaide Hobart], also inscribed on upper flyleaf: "Robert H. Hobart Cust Bo[?]ed January 1896". Binding: Nineteenth-century full red textured cloth on semi-limp boards, lettered in gilt on spine: "Harp lute music".
