With loosely inserted postcard of a dog between lower endpapers, sent by "A. Donne" [perhaps "Aunt Lee?"] with a message for "Simon and Phil": "Auntie Lee likes the [?] post card so much shall keep it very safe". Provenance: Inscribed on t.p. "Donne". Inscribed on upper pastedown: "To Simon and Philip [i.e.Simon Yorke IV (1903-66), eldest son of Philip Yorke II of Erddig and Louisa Matilda Scott, and Philip Scott Yorke (1905-78), youngest son of Philip Yorke II of Erddig and Louisa Matilda Scott] from Aunt Lee April 9th 1910". Binding: Nineteenth-century publisher's full brown cloth, gilt lettered on upper cover. Upper joint broken; text-block loose with some initial leaves wanting.
