Provenance: Inscribed on upper pastedown: "Leopold Cust [(1831-), son of Sir Edward Cust and Mary Anne Boode] a birthday gift from Louisa [i.e. Louisa Mary Anne Cust (1822-1863)] 1836" [both were siblings of Victoria Mary Louisa Cust (1823-95), daughter of Sir Edward Cust and Mary Anne Boode, m. Simon Yorke III of Erddig in 1846]. Also inscribed: "Lily and Philip Yorke [i.e.Etheldred Mary Anne Yorke (i.e. Lily) (1847-1919) and Philip Yorke II of Erddig (1849-1922), children of Simon Yorke III of Erddig and Victoria Mary Louisa Cust] The kind gift of Uncle Leopold, 1853". Binding: Nineteenth-century publisher's quarter maroon sheep on marbled paper over boards. Corners of board edges damaged.
